Zooted Glassworks : Packaging + Product Photography
I’ve done so many different projects for Zooted Glassworks, be it product photography, photography of the studio space, promotional work, signs, logo re-design, etc. Most recently I’ve updated the shipping packaging.
He’s trained in both flameworking and soft glass, though almost all of the work he does these days is flame-worked. In 2020 he gained recognition making glassware, one of the few flame workers known for such gorgeous hand-made cups. All of his glassware at this point is made without a lathe. Anyone will tell you that borosilicate can be incredibly temperamental, be it a well-known flameworker or an amateur who’s only taken a few lessons, it’s hot, gooey, and flops all over the place.
The packaging below is inspired by his glasswork and the tools that glass blowers use daily. The packaging tape is entirely tools, illustrations turned icons of objects he uses every day to create his ever-awe-inspiring functional pieces. The tissue paper is inspired by his main cup shapes: tulip, pilsner, holy grail, geometric, tumbler, cocktail, stemless, floppy bowl (which is a bowl/dish, not a cup), all the while incorporating the tools.
